Short answer is NO. If you already familiar with Genshin gacha system and maybe active in Genshin community, spending your primogems for Standard Wish is doesn't worth it. Because you can also get every characters and weapons from Standard Wish on limited Character Event Wish. But, you can't get those limited character on Standard Wish.
Therefore, you must understand the difference before spending your primogems. Especially when you convert your primogems into wishing items. In Genshin you can directly use your primogems for any banner. The other method is either use Intertwined Fate (Colorful) or Acquaint Fate (Blue) to roll chance getting character or weapon you wishing for. Intertwined Fate (Colorful) for limited Character Event Wish. Acquaint Fate (Blue) for Standard Wish.
Why you should careful enough for this one. Let me tell you something. There is someone on internet that spending his/her primogems to get limited character but accidentally convert it to Acquaint Fate (Blue). Because 200+ Acquaint Fate (Blue) is no small amount of primogems used and it could be worst if he/she buy it with real money.
The Good Side
But it doesn't mean you should skip it entirely. Because you could get Acquaint Fate (Blue) from in game without spending your money.
